Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) has taken a swipe at the Congress following NDA candidate A.P. Ranganath’s victory in the Bengaluru Teachers’ constituency election to the Karnataka Legislative Council, pointing out that the contest was conducted using ballot papers rather than electronic voting machines (EVMs).
In a post on its official X account, the JD(S) said the Congress was in power in Karnataka during the election but failed to retain the constituency. The party questioned what explanation Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, would offer for the outcome.

“Will you now claim that the ballot papers were stolen?” the JD(S) asked sarcastically, referring to what it described as the Congress’s tendency to question EVMs after electoral defeats.
