Stalin Rejects Rs 6,000 Crore Power Equipment Waste Allegation, Calls It Baseless

Chennai: DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has hit back at allegations that electricity equipment worth Rs 6,000 crore had gone waste, dismissing the charge as baseless.

Reacting to the controversy over power cuts and the alleged wastage of equipment, Stalin said different people were making conflicting claims, making it difficult to establish what was true.

Comparing the allegation to a cat closing its eyes and assuming the world has gone dark, he questioned the basis of the criticism.

Stalin also accused the government of political vendetta over the arrest of a former DMK minister. He said the party would face the case through legal channels.
