Putin’s praise of Modi on global peace a matter of pride for India: Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s appreciation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts towards global peace was a matter of pride for Indians.

In a post on social media platform X, Shah said Putin’s remarks, made around the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, reflected India’s role in promoting peace and non-violence on the global stage.

Shah said India, under Modi’s leadership, had emerged as a voice for global peace, adding that the Prime Minister had consistently emphasised dialogue and diplomacy as ways to resolve conflicts rather than relying on military action.

Referring to India’s assistance during wars and natural disasters, Shah said the country’s response reflected the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family.

He also said India’s views were receiving greater attention during international crises and that Modi’s statements were being closely followed by the global community.

Shah’s remarks followed Putin’s appreciation of Modi’s efforts towards peace, as highlighted by the Union Home Minister in his social media post. The statement comes amid continuing international conflicts and diplomatic efforts to address global tensions.
